Koro Vests
This collection is a tribute to our Koro, celebrating their swag & style.
I’ve placed this kowhaiwhai design Pūhoro in my mahi many times lately, I think probably because of the current challenges our people have had to face.
The kowhaiwhai design on these vests is called Pūhoro. There are a few meanings behind the design. It can be seen as a symbol of resilience & overcoming challenges. The spirals mimic the patterns of life’s journey, embodying the twists & turns one must navigate. For our people, the Pūhoro is a testament to the strength of our tūpuna, to their survival, & their ability to adapt in the face of adversity.
